Abstract

Traffic injuries are often connected with considerable mortality and invalidity. Head injuries are mostly responsible for traffic deaths. This is a presentation of the patient, 27 years old, with difficult polytrauma. He had marked respiratory insufficiency and shock. Numerous bone fractures, soft tissue injuries and particularly visceral organs rendered both an early and late prognosis extremely difficult. The patient was successfully surgically managed.
