Abstract

One hundred and eighty-five jaw cysts in one hundred and seventy-four patients were studied and treated in our department. These cysts were classified into small, medium and large cysts. The retrospective statistical analysis of the cases revealed that males were affected almost twice as often as females and the incidence of radicular cysts was higher than in any of the reference studies. Enuculation of the cysts and saucerisation of their cavities together with the use of proteolytic enzyme therapy wds found a satisfactory method for treatment of jaw cysts.
