Abstract

A total of 100 cases of ectopic pregnancy treated at Al-Jamahiriya Hospital, Ben ghazi, was studied to evaluate the prevalence, possible aetiological factors, and maternal outcome. The prevalence increased from 0.1% in 1983 to 0.21% in 1986. Important aetiological factors were pelvic inflammatory disease and previous pelvic surgery. Although 92% patients presented with a ruptured tubal pregnancy, but there was no maternal death.
