Abstract

Analysis of 100 renal calculi for their chemical composition revealed the incidence of calcium oxalate/calcium phospate as 75%, triple phosphates as 15% and uric acid as 10%. Chemical analysis of the drinking water obtained from three different places in Benghazi City revealed a high mineral content especially with respect to calcium. Further studies should be carried out. Some measures to prevent the occurrence of such stones are suggested.
