Abstract

A patient with hydrocephalus who had undergone ventriculo venous shunt three years earlier is being reported. She developed irreversible cardio-respiratory changes due to advanced pulmonary hypertension proved by echocardiography. It is recommended that all hydrocephalic children with shunts should have cardiac evaluation especially by echocardiography at least every six months in order to detect early cardio-pulmonary problems and avert cardiac failure.
