Abstract

Cloning has attracted enormous media attention recently, thanks to Dolly sheep. The news of the successful cloning experiment on July 5, 1996 by Ian Wilmut and Keith Campbell of the Roslin Institute in Scotland has taken the world by a storm. Many people were fascination has escalated even more by the birth of Dolly, a year later, in July 1997, a work done by the same researchers. Soon, articles, reviews and editorials started to flood both scientific as well as tabloid journals and newspapers.
