Abstract

This prospective clinical study was carried out at the Plastic Surgery Unit, University of Garyounis, Benghazi, involving sixty consecutive cases of guillotine amputation of finger tips, irrespective of age groups. Two main forms of treatment were used: conservative with adhesive zinc tape directly on the wound, or operative. The results of the study seems to justify the following conclusion. The guillotine amputation of finger tips can be treated successfully, conservatively with zinc tape on an outpatient basis and there is no need for hospital admission or operation.
