Abstract

The relationship between crime and mental disorder forms one of the important aspects of forensic psychiatry. Mental disorder resulting in disturbed social behaviour often result in police intervention and referral for psychiatric evaluation in regard to responsibility and fitness to plead. Different types of psychiatric disorders have different patterns in criminal behaviour and hence different relations to crime.
