Abstract
A case of mitral stenosis was examined by M-mode and two-dimensional echo- cardiography for evaluation of the state of mitral valve. An abnormal mass of echoes was visualized in the cavity of the left atrium. Echocardiographic diagnosis of a huge left a trial thrombus was confirmed by surgery. The role of echocardiography in diagnosing left atrial masses is discussed.
