Abstract

This case report discusses a periodontal defect caused by an apically displaced orthodontic molar band, which was left unnoticed by the orthodontist leading to a periodontal abscess with consequent bone loss. It also highlights the use of platelet rich plasma (PRP) as a novel method to enhance and boost periodontal healing.
