Abstract
A review of the parasitic diseases endemic in the Libyan Jamahiriya is presented with particular regard to parasitoses of children. An argument is presented for more vigilance on the part of the practicing physician to be on the look-out for “exotic” diseases, and for an improvement of the data-recording system to overcome the dirth of information. It is suggested that studies should be carried out on the aetiology of child morbidity and plans formulated to expand health education.
