Abstract

A technique of application and results of action of permanent intramedullary drainage flow are presented.
Flow drainage was applied in 25 cases of a group of 67 cases of osteomyelitis, acute and chronic, treated surgically. Permanent intramedullary drainage flow permitted high local concentration of antibiotics, created effective hypotension in the focus, broke the vicious circle of the disease process, and exerted good effect on the healing process in bone and soft tissue.
