Abstract
A 48 years old lady, who had cholecystostomy two years ago, presented with biliary colic and while an in-patient developed obstructive jaundice and cholangitis. On exploration, after investigations and conservative management, she was found to be suffering from cholelithiasis and choledocholithiasis. Three of the stones in the common bile duct were found around a Prolene suture.
It is recommended that non-absorbable sutures should not be used in the biliary tree surgery.
