Abstract

INTRODUCTION
Prolonged pregnancy causes anxiety and distress for many women, their families, midwives, and obstetricians. The main reason for this is the risk of late intrauterine deaths that may occur while baby remain in-utero. Despite many trials, there is still no consensus regarding the most appropriate management of this difficult situation. Thus in many instances, the question, whether to intervene in a prolonged pregnancy, is based on traditions and emotions rather than scientific data.
