Pyridoxal-5’- phosphate (PALP), the biologically active coenzyme form of vitamin B6 plays an important role in enzyme catalysed reactions in the metabolism of amino acids, glycogen and fatty acids( I). It functions through the formation of Schiff-base adducts with free amino groups of amino acids and proteins. This reaction has led to its use as a reagent for chemical modification of enzymes for many of which it serves as an inhibitor
Keywords: The effect of pyridoxal and pyridoxal -5’- Phosphate on the activity of bacterial phospholipase C.
