Abstract

The US health care system is more privatized than that of any other advanced countries but nearly half of total health care spending comes from the government, most of this spending is accounted for by two great social insurance programs; Medicare for elderly seniors and Medicaid to the poor or near poor people. The rest either; employer – based insurance or have insurance for themselves. The WHO ranked the US health care system as 37th by overall performance, 72nd by health and 1st by expenditure . The “free-market” US health care system is costly, fragmented, with accelerating adverse selection . It is unaffordable by the majority and unquotable.
