Abstract

Management of a patient with multiple injuries has improved in the last 20 years because of better understanding of injured person and recent advances in treatment. This can be divided into pre-hospital and hospital periods. The hospital period includes acute period in the casualty, primary period and secondary period. During secondary period osteosynthesis of major fractures is performed. By early osteosynthesis we not only restore the vital functions but also obtain good functional result of the extremities.
