Abstract

Visual impairment in children can be due to developmental and genetically determined disorders, infections, trauma, tumors, nutritional deficiency, and systemic disorders. Newer techniques such as phacoemulsification and vitrectomy have improved the prognosis in disorders involving the human lens.
