Abstract

Traffic injuries have become an ever more present phenomenon in Zuara and surroundings. Causes of these accidents vary. Mainly, the drivers are responsible, rarely a technical defect on the vehicle. Most of injuries were caused by forceable tissue rupture. Most tissue damage was involved almost invariably in the patients we treated in our outpatient surgery. Head injuries resulted in brain concussion and similar conditions. Closed abdominal injuries have not been infrequent. Extremity bone fractures were often met, particularly fractures in the ankle area. Circumstances of traffic accident are important for diagnosis and prognosis in such patients.
