Abstract

51 cases of acute haematogenous osteomyelilis, diagnosed within one week from the onset of symptoms, were selected to evaluate the role of surgical decompression combined with antibiotic therapy. They were treated in Saudi and Nemazi Hospitals, in Shiraz, Iran, and folio wed up for a varying period between 1969 and 1976. The results are presented and discussed.
