Abstract
31 cases of progressive hydrocephalus have been treated by ventricule-peritoneal shunt and the results of management are reviewed.
Operative mortality and death due to complications of this type of shunt were much lower than after ventricule-atrial shunts. This shunt should be considered because it is no more likely to block than ventricule-atrial, is easier to revise and complications are fewer and less serious.
