Abstract

Intraperitoneal rupture of hepatic hydatid cyst is a known complication of this disease. Recently, we had a child with blunt abdominal trauma who had rupture of hepatic hydatid cyst. This was detected preoperti rely by ultrasonography and was confirmed by successful surgery. Relevant literature is reviewed.
