Abstract
This report is based on 87 children brought to the casualily department of Al-Jalla Hospital, a teaching unit of the faculty of medicine in Benghazi, with one or other complications following circumcision during the period of study. Various interesting factors including place of circumcision, name of operator, use of anaesthesia and different types of injuries to male external genitalia are studied. The high incidence of injuries to the male external genitalia following circumcision done at home is sufficient to warrant that certain measures should be taken immediately which will prevent the practice of cicumcision outside the hospital.
