Abstract
Two hundred known diabetics were thoroughly examined for the presence of cutaneous abnormality and compared with observations in 186 controls. There was a very high prevalence of bacterial infection, tinea pedis, candida infection, and generalised pruritus in diabetics. Possible mechanisms of increased frequency of these disorders in diabetes is discussed.
