Abstract

Antibiotic resistance is an increasing global threat and overuse of antibiotics in outpatient clinics is considered to make an important contribution to this. Research and surveillance of antibiotic use and antibiotic resistance are underlined as prerequisites for quality improvement in this area. In the development of the speciality of general practice in Libya, research in this area is suggested.
